After the boat ride back, we went to a cool old restaurant. well, the
building was really old, but not the restaurant inside. I don't think
they served waffles in ancient taipei.
We relaxed a bit at the restaurant, all of us pretty heat exhausted
and we did just do a whole lotta walking. but there was much more of
that to come for the rest of the trip that's for sure. lots of leg work.
but for now we just casually went around the area when we finished our
meal. Stopped by another temple and I bought some stuff for yuka.

| We then got on the MRT subway and made our way to Kuando.
Kuando aparently has a beautiful temple. Perfect way to spend more space
on my memory card for my camera. Getting to Kuando, we found out that
walking isn't such a good idea, so we waited for a bus and a cute little
tiny one came along. Once we got the temple, I couldn't really see too
much. the surroundings was just more random city market stuff and things
anyhow with a temple in between. but the more I explored it the more I
was marveled by how beautiful it was. Especially the higher up I went.
wow, so gorgeous... |

Aferwards we took the train back into the main part of the city. I
wanted to watch the sunset in the CKS Memorial park. There are huge
temples and a beautiful gate there I wanted to check out.

|
We got to the CKS on good time. The air started to get
cooler and it was becoming a little more refreshing to be outside. The
CKS is HUUUUUUUUUGE!!! so big. really big open area. There are 4 monuments
and each are really really big. There were alot of people but because
the area is so wide and open it didn't feel like a crowd. Great place
for a mass celebration of some kind. Concerts are held here too. and
when we got there a stage was being taken down.

Walking more towards the center, Kao told me that we're
coming right on time because at the end of each day (6 o'clock) the
palace military guards take down the flag. They played the anthem and
it was really something to be a part of. I managed to run in close enough
to get a couple shots before they finished.

|
We sat on the grass to relax a bit after. Chatted a bit before parting
company. It was getting time for them to leave and for me to begin the
final phase of my trip. This is where my rollerblades come in handy...
But first I decided to find a secluded place around the park to take
a nap...
